Surgical Facelift
You may want to consider facelift surgery if you are bothered by signs of aging in the face and neck and you are seeking a more permanent solution. A facelift can restore your youthful appearance by eliminating or improving:
- Loose and sagging skin
- Deep creases below the eyelids and from the nose to the mouth
- Fallen or displaced fat
- Jowls

The Facelift Procedure
Depending on the complexity of your facelift surgery, the length of the procedure may vary but is usually several hours. Typically facelift surgery is an outpatient surgery, but a short inpatient stay may be required for some patients.
During your facelift consultation, Dr. Kalus may recommend additional facial plastic surgery or skin treatments. Microdermabrasion is an excellent complement to facelift surgery and can help refine the skin's texture.

Facial Rejuvenation
For younger patients who are not yet ready for facelift surgery, Dr. Kalus may recommend other options such as BOTOX® treatments or other injectables at his South Carolina surgery center. Non-surgical procedures are ideal for patients who want a more youthful appearance without surgery. Our office offers several types of injectables or facial rejuvenation procedures to consider, such as:
- BOTOX®
- Collagen
- Hyaluronic acid
- Injectable fillers, such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, etc.
- Chemical peels, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion
Non-surgical treatments are relatively painless and seamless and most can be done in the office using local anesthesia. Bruising and swelling will be minimal and can be treated with over-the-counter pain medication.
